Soekarno-Hatta International Airport New Terminal Design
Jakarta, Indonesia
10 Design along with a consortium comprised of Egis, Yodya Karya and Almaviva has proposed a design for the new Terminal 4 at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta. The consortium proposal was one of two finalists amongst 5 international shortlisted entries. Terminal 4 is designed to serve a capacity of 45 million passengers with 140,000 outgoing flights per year.
The landmark modern design echoes the traditions of Indonesia architecture and culture with soaring undulating roof forms and lush tropical gardens. Key design considerations included passenger experience, cultural identity, efficiency, convenience, sustainability, commercial opportunities and connection to nature.
