Jinwan Mall slated to open this September

Jinwan Mall by 10 Design is slated to open this September in Zhuhai, China.

The site sits on the edge of a beautiful man-made lake in Jinwan Aviation City. The concept by Design Partner, Ted Givens, and his team was to pull a courtyard garden off the edge of the lake and wrap the retail program around the resultant garden space. The mall thus acts as an abstracted garden wall which defines the form of the gardens. A rhombus base pattern on the facade, inspired by the hypercube, intertwines the idea of motion and progress with the stability of a traditional Chinese stacked stone wall.

The development will create 117,000sqm of retail and entertainment space as well as a significant public green space within the new central business district.

The retail mall is amongst the three projects that 10 Design has created for Huafa in the wider masterplan. The neighbouring developments include the recently completed Industrial Service Centre and the International Business Centre, which is also due to open later this year.
