The Shenzhen Federation of Trade Unions, the Luohu district government, and the Shenzhen Metro Group jointly announced the competition shortlist earlier this week.

The site is prominently located in Luohu District in Shenzhen, adjacent to Dongmen Pedestrian Street and Buji River on the west with high accessibility to a well-connected transportation network and key buildings in the area.  The vision of the three parties is to create a new cultural and leisure landmark, bringing together creativity, recreation, and learning under one roof for the residents and visitors of Shenzhen to enjoy.  The new cultural palace will provide over 100,000sqm of public spaces including conference halls, corporate training facilities, theatres, a performing arts centre, a library, a main sports centre, and a wide range of sports facilities.  

Final competition design will be submitted in the next two months for final judging.
