10 Design Principals, Barry Shapiro and José Cláudio Silva, speak to The Manila Times on the power of mixed-use development in creating sustainable and liveable cities.

Barry introduces the benefits of mixed-use development and why 10 Design (part of Egis Group) has been advocating the “15-Minute City” planning strategy. The complementary mix of uses with close vicinity and accessibility to residents, workers and visitors within the community promotes an active 24-hour urban environment.

José further explains how the principle has guided our thinking behind many of our successful projects across Asia and the Middle East. “Mixed-use developments can contribute to creating a more sustainable city planning and management, as it will enhance green mobility and create more car-free communities," says José.
